Learn Pottery at Kilchrenan Village Hall – A Two-Weekend Course

Join us for a complete pottery experience in Kilchrenan Village Hall, where you’ll take clay from your first throw on the wheel through to finished glazed pots. Over two weekends, you’ll learn, practice, and create in a friendly and supportive environment, with two experienced potters guiding just five people per session. Each participant has their own wheel for the duration, ensuring plenty of one-to-one time and space to learn.

Weekend One (17th & 18th of January)

• Three sessions available each day (morning, midday, afternoon).

• You’ll have a two-hour wheel slot, throwing pots with our guidance.

• Full-day creative access: Outside of your booked wheel session, you’re welcome to stay for the full day and explore a variety of other pottery techniques, including hand-building, slab building, coil pots, and more - all at your own pace.

Weekend Two (24th & 25th of January)

• Return to your pots to trim, tidy, carve, and decorate them.

• Again, you’ll have a two-hour wheel session plus the option to spend as much time as you like hand-building and experimenting with other techniques.

Finishing Touches

• On the second weekend, you’ll choose from a range of glazes and finishes.

• We’ll glaze and fire your work for you - this process can take up to four weeks. Once complete, you can collect your finished pieces and enjoy the results of your pottery journey.

• Sessions are 2 hours long, but participants are welcome to stay all day to explore other techniques

Come along for a hands-on, creative experience. From clay to cup, bowl, or vase, this course gives you the full pottery process, with the freedom to experiment and explore a variety of techniques in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

As with all our community events, the final format may be adjusted depending on numbers, so we can make the best experience for everyone involved.

Bookings & Payment

Your booking includes your wheel time on both weekends of the course, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the studio.

You’re welcome to pay by card at checkout, or choose Manual Payment if you prefer to pay by bank transfer. If you select manual payment, we’ll email you our bank details so you can make the transfer at your convenience.

To keep things fair for everyone, bookings made by manual payment will be held for 7 days. If payment hasn’t been received or we haven’t heard from you within that time, the space automatically gets released back to the public

Cancellations

You’re welcome to cancel your booking for a full refund anytime up to 14 days before the course begins. If you need to cancel after that point, please get in touch and we’ll always do our best to help. While refunds aren’t guaranteed within 14 days of the start date, we may be able to transfer your booking to a future date or issue an e-voucher if we cant refill your space.
