Veined Vase – Naked

This handmade Veined Vase is finished in Naked, our transparent glaze designed to keep the glaze itself out of the way and allow the clay, colour and markings beneath to remain visible. Naked is not tied to one colour; what lies underneath can change from piece to piece.
On this vase, dark decoration settles into fractured lines beneath the clear finish, recalling the quartz veins running through the rocks and glens around Glen Lochy. A hand-applied band of real Scottish gold, panned from local rivers, circles the neck and echoes the mineral-rich seams running through these hills.
